Mandatory Ethics Training:?Important Updates
All Illinois public university employees are required to complete two annual online Ethics Training programs. The University’s Ethics Training is mandatory for all Northeastern Illinois University employees under Illinois law, as defined in the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act () and the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act (). Please see the detailed information below about the Ethics Training and the Ethics FAQ for technical guidance.

The will cover such topics as:
- accepting gifts and bribes
- conflict of interest
- inappropriate use of University resources
- whistleblower protection?
The will cover topics involving:
- sexual harassment prevention through real life scenarios
- how to intervene safely as a bystander
- how to report sexual harassment to the Title IX Office
- NEIU policies

Ethics Training period
The Ethics Training period for Northeastern employees this year is from Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, to Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019. You will be emailed the 2019 Annual Ethics Training Notice on Oct. 22, 2019, with an explanation of the process. You will then be emailed the Ethics Training instructions on Oct. 23, 2019, the first day of the Ethics Training period. Both Parts I and II must be completed during the four-week training period.?

How do i access Training?
Part I (Ethics) is accessible to Northeastern’s employees through the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system. Follow the instructions on this worksheet to access D2L and the Part I (Ethics) training. ?
Part II (Sexual Harassment Prevention) is accessible to Northeastern’s employees through an outside learning management system, Traliant. ?

Expected Length of Time to Complete the Ethics Training
吉祥棋牌游戏大厅免费下载Part I (Ethics) generally takes 60 minutes. Part II (Sexual Harassment Prevention) generally takes 45 minutes. Remember that you have four weeks to complete both Ethics Training programs, and you may start and stop them as needed. The training programs are designed so they can be completed in segments. Part II (Sexual Harassment Prevention) requires speakers; we suggest you bring in headphones or earbuds to be able to complete the program.

We understand that not all employees have access to seated computers on the job. Please contact the NEIU Ethics Officer for information on computer labs or other options for your training.
Regular email reminders will be sent to employees to complete the trainings. ?
Confirmation of Ethics Training Completion
After you have completed Part I (Ethics), you will be able to print out and/or electronically save a Certificate of Compliance at the end of the program. To access your Certificate, please click on the graduation cap icon, then click "generate certificate" and it will automatically download.
After you have completed Part II (Sexual Harassment Prevention), you will receive an email from Traliant with a Certificate of Compliance. You should print out and/or electronically save your two Certificates, but you do not need to submit them to the Ethics Office. ?
Failure to complete the Ethics Training will result in the statutorily required reporting of your name to the Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor. The penalties for noncompliance will be determined by the Illinois Executive Ethics Commission (EEC), in addition to any internal disciplinary action imposed by Northeastern. The EEC has the authority to hold administrative hearings related to employee noncompliance and assess individual fines up to $5,000 for violations of the Ethics Act. In addition, EEC will post the names of employees who fail to complete Part II (Sexual Harassment Prevention) on the EEC’s website. See . ?
